Notification on the appointment of a candidate outside director as a corporate advisor

(Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Katsuaki Sato, “Metaps”) hereby announces that Mr. Ken Takayama, who is a former CFO of Rakuten, Inc., (“Rakuten”) was appointed as a corporate advisor to our company from this September, prior to his nomination as a candidate for an outside director. The selection of outside directors is to be discussed at the 9th ordinary general shareholders’ meeting scheduled to be held in November 2016.We have expanded our global operation in 8 countries within the fast-growing internet industry mainly utilizing data technology for advertising and financial services with the corporate vision of “Empowering people to make smarter decisions through computer learning”.Mr. Takayama started his career at The Industrial Bank of Japan, Limited (current Mizuho Bank, Ltd.) and joined Rakuten in November 1999 as a Senior Director. Since 2013, Mr. Takayama was primarily responsible for managing the financial strategy as group CFO of Rakuten. He has deep understanding of our corporate culture and will offer his experience and knowledge to build up our FinTech business and to enhance our long term corporate value and corporate governance. Acquisition of PAYDESIGN, Inc.

On April 14, 2016, Metaps, Inc. (“Metaps”) announced its acquisition of PAYDESIGN, Inc. (“PAYDESIGN”), a leading payment service company in Japan (the “Transaction”). Metaps acquired all of the outstanding common stock of PAYDESIGN from DRC Capital group, Japanese private equity funds, for JPY 2,880million in cash.

Metaps and Hakuhodo to develop TV commercial analytics for app developers

Metaps Inc. has announced a total marketing partnership targeting app developers with Japanese advertising agency Hakuhodo Inc. Both companies entered into this partnership to improve upon current methodology to calculate the performance of TV commercial campaigns by joint development of better analytics and visualization solutions. Former Square Enix President Yoichi Wada joins Metaps Board of Directors

Yoichi Wada, the former President of Square Enix, has joined the Metaps team as an outside director on the Board of Directors. Yoichi Wada's appointment to the Board of Directors is a strong addition to the Metaps management team, drawing upon his vast knowledge and experience in digital entertainment and finance, and over 10 years experience presiding over public companies.

Metaps announces $36 Million in Series C Funding

Metaps Inc. announced that they have completed a $36 million Series C round of financing, headed by pre-existing and multiple new stakeholders in Japan and with the participation of a Silicon Valley venture capital firm.
